REPORT
According to Bill Bowler, the instructor for material selection session, the teacher / lecturer- created-materials should suit all level of the students. Activity 1 that has been conducted for this session was quite interesting. The instructor managed to get us to participate in the discussion.
We were asked to go through the samples and chose the suitable material which fits all the requirements that need to be used in the class.
Activity 2 was about matching the description to its purpose. At first, the instructor explained each of the purpose in detailed and then the participants were given an ample time to complete the task.
REFLECTION
Bill managed to grab our attention with his teaching aid - his own hat!
The trainer explained how to simplify materials used according to learners’ level of proficiency.
RECOMMENDATION
All the activities that have been carried out for the session were very interesting and meaningful. The methods of moving on from a simpler task to a harder one were really worked. Therefore, it is advisable for the participants to apply the ideas in their teaching.
